Halo Healthcare Ltd is based in Unit F, on the Mobilis site in Oldham. The Company was formed in 1998, when the Group acquired the assets of Charles S Bullen (Orthotics) Ltd. The original company was founded in 1858, by Charles S Bullen, and was still under the control of the Bullen family, having become a major supplier of clinical services and bespoke orthotics to the NHS.

The NHS is central to business for Halo, which employs four Orthotists who supply their clinical skills to NHS Trust hospitals for sessional fees and generate bespoke products for their patients, which are manufactured by Halo and County.
Orthotics is a discipline which involves the use of ‘orthoses’ – special devices, usually made to measure, and worn by the patient to help to correct biomechanical deficiencies of the limbs or the spine. Many people of all ages can benefit from this practical, non-invasive treatment and enjoy lasting results without the need for drugs or surgery.

As part of its ongoing programme of training and development for practitioners in the field of orthotics, Halo Healthcare has produced the ‘Halo Guide to Foot Orthoses’. This practical and comprehensive guide to bespoke and chairside foot orthoses provides the practitioner with a source of reference for prescribing the most suitable product for a wide variety of foot conditions.
