Rafael Nadal wins Wimbledon with the help of Kinesiology Tape
No.2-seed Rafael Nadal has been crowned Wimbledon Men Singles Champion 2008 after beating the great Roger Federer in an epic final.
The 4-hour, 48-minute match was the longest and possibly the greatest men’s final match in Wimbledon’s history filled with spectacular shots, excitement and tears.
Kinesiology Tapes
Throughout his qualifying matches, Nadal used a Japanese healing method to help overcome muscle tightness. Kinesio Tape, also known as K-Active Tape is a revolutionary product, developed by Dr Kenzo Kase in the 1970’s.
The main intention of the method was to support bodily healing processes with a special material utilising a particular application technique.
Application
The K-Active Tape guarantees an unrestricted feeling for the user within a few minutes. Watch the following video to see how to apply K-Active Tape accurately.
K-Active Tapes are taking professional sport by storm with stars including Rafael Nadal and David Beckham who have already been spotted wearing the colourful tapes to give their aching muscles more elasticity.
How does it work?
Kinesiology Tape is modelled on the skin’s characteristics and thus able to transmit positive sensory information to the body. The application techniques were developed through the use of kinesiological tests, which logically gave the therapy and the material its name.
The aim of the therapy is not to limit motion but rather to make physiological movement of joints and muscles possible, which in turn activates control and healing.
Kinesiology tape can be used for a variety of applications including joint distortions, sport injuries, reduction of movement, spinal problems, muscular tension, headache, urinary incontinence and many more areas. Many people experience improvements with their injury within the first three to five days. The tapes are available in four colours: beige, blue, black and pink.
